Awareness program of volunteering among youth by post graduate students by School of International Studies (SOiS), Universiti Utara Malaysia

"I’m in: Youth, Let’s volunteer!” This is the title of our event. This event is one of the requirements of APPLICATION OF STRATEGIC THEORIES IN LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT, and its purpose is to apply what has been studied of these theories in the field of leadership, team leadership, working as a team, dividing tasks among team members to successfully implement the task.

The event was regarding the work of NGOs, which support the various groups of society and its segments voluntarily, and these organizations were linked to the goal of the core event, which is "volunteering"

The event took place on 25^th November 2019 in the foyer of the Sultanah Bahiyah Library at UUM University, and it lasted for four hours from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, and the participating organizations were: cancer survivors Malaysia, PPAIM, Goodreaede, A.wake and The Blood Transfusion Team.

These organizations used to collect donations voluntarily only, not compulsory, and that was an enjoyable and beneficial way of presenting various, varied and useful things for sale such as books, stories and some types of dates in addition to children's toys, and at very symbolic prices, and the sales amounts go to these organizations to achieve their goals in support In need.

After the organizations took their assigned places, the students seemed to come and inquire, to find out the purpose of the event, in addition to the team members explaining to the students and people coming about the details and clarifying the idea of this event, and the team members distributing many flyers that explain the work of the organizations and ways to contact them in the event of their donation in The future, for the purpose of obtaining their support voluntarily.

Indeed, there was a very large presence by people, whether students or university employees, and participation was great, despite it being an academic semester and the existence of classes for students, and their interaction stems from their eagerness to participate in volunteer work and support charitable work, which aims to enhance assistance to all members of society Whether children through organizations support students, or patients which represented in supporting organizations of cancer patients and blood donation.

The arrangement of the event was at a very high level and no problems or obstacles were not encountered due to the correct plans that were put in place and applied to the success of the event.

In addition to the work team that sought to achieve success and benefit from it for its side by acquiring skills and expertise in managing such kind of tasks, or For the benefit of society through volunteer participation in supporting organizations and thus supporting and assisting community members.
